Sony launches new Walkman, E and B Series
As you all probably know, Sony is celebrating 30 years since the very first Walkman was launched, back in 1979. Such an occasion demands for a special issue of... something, and that thing is Sony's new Walkman models, E and B Series.
The 9.3 mm slim and 2 inch screen entry-level E Series brings mini portable media player abilities and a recordable FM tuner with up to 30 hours of music or 6 hours of video playback. Both models come with Sony's Clear Audio technology for a perfect sound, a 5-band equaliser and a Dynamic Normalizer for balancing the volume between songs. Sony Walkman Series E and B support a wide range of formats, including WMA and WMV, and you can also count on them for supporting video file format conversions via the supplied Content Transfer software.
For now, the B Series model has already been launched in Japan, and is the ultra-portable option for gym-ers and commuters, offering 18 hours of music playback with a 3 minute quick charge to power it up for 90 minutes of listening. The B Series also offer a recordable FM tuner and the “Zapin” Sony function that plays a few seconds from each track for a quicker, more simple identification. Both E and B Series feature the “drag and drop” option for transfering file from a PC directly into the device, while the E series can hook up to iTunes using Content Transfer.
To add some flavour to the offer, Sony is giving some free stuff to whoever decides to buy one of those: a case, sport armbrand for B Series, a speaker dock for the E Series. Patience, thought, Sony Walkman E and B Series will come to Europe soon, sometime this July.
