Google and NASA Together For a Castalia in Sillicon Valley
The famous Sillicon Valley is the place chosen by Google and NASA for Singularity University, the school in which the future brilliant minds will study. They will take classes like biotechnology, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence. Singularity University will be run by Ray Kurzwell, whose predictions about the rhythm of technology progress, that at the half of the XXI century the artificial intelligence will overcome the human one, made him become a very controversial person, but as we can see he has the support of Google and NASA. Singularity University won’t have university accreditation and it will function after the model of International Space University from Strasbourg (France). The name of the university comes from Kurzwell’s theory, resumed in his book “The Singularity Is Near”. The partisans of this theory sustain that the machines will be capable to perfect themselves, using artificial intelligence, and the computers will be smarter than humans and will solve problems like the lack of resources, the hunger or the greenhouse effect. But those who are against the theory can call his book “The Apocalypse Is Near” because they sustain that “singularity” is a dangerous concept- we all saw Terminator- the artificial intelligence can decide in a millisecond to annihilate the human specie.
