Google can say where you are
If all day you keep on wondering where your friend is, if your husband arrived at the office or he’s already left it or what are your kids doing at this moment you should know that Google has the answer. Your cousin is gone for a trip and you would like to know if he arrived well. Google has the answer. You can even play hide and seek with your friends thanks to the new gadget made by Google, Latitude.
Latitude is a new feature for Google Maps on your mobile device and it’s also an iGoogle gadget on your computer. If you choose Latitude you may share your whereabouts with your family and friends.
Google didn’t forget about privacy matters so you are the only one who can control the entire system. Firstly, you decide who may see you. The entire hide and seek game follows three steps: 1. you choose a friend with whom you want to share your locations. 2. You set the right privacy level for each friend; so you may share best available location or only city level location or you may even hide your location from this friend. Step number 3, you set the right privacy level for all of your friends. Secondly, Google will not retain any information about your movements. Latitude is available on Blackberry, S60, and Windows Mobile and it will be available to the iPhone. You may even install the Latitude iGoogle gadget on your computer.
The idea is amazing and it will certainly have a social positive impact. Not only that blows all your worries away but it also brings you, your family and your friends a way to have fun and keep in touch.
The only problem is that for instant only 27 countries may enjoy this super gadget. Google hopes that soon they are going to make it possible in more other countries.
