From Horse-Power Engines to Nuclear Reactors: the New Concept of Cadillac WTF
A new car concept designed by Loren Kulesus which will not be present in any showroom, at least not until a future similar to SF movies, is Cadillac World Thorium Fuel. I admit that the first time I read the initials WTF I couldn’t have thought of World Thorium Fuel, but of the well-known words used on the messenger.
Well, you can say that once more and this time even louder. Going back to its real name, this comes from the idea that it would be propelled by a nuclear reactor placed in the center. The energy would be fueled by Thorium, a radioactive metal which is considered an alternative for uranium and other nuclear fuels. It is estimated that this type of fuel will last you about 100 years.
The only problem is whether we will have the necessary technology to use small nuclear reactors without risking “small catastrophes”, especially in the case of car accidents, so frequent nowadays. Thus, this fuel would solve the problems we have with providing energy, especially taking into consideration that the present natural resources are about to end. In this case, cars fueled by hydrogen remain the only viable solution on which we will fall back very soon.
Beyond aerodynamics, design, power and everything else this new Cadillac expresses, another questionable aspect of this car is related to the fact that its wheels are formed of other six wheels strung out, each fueled separately and having different diameters. Like any other concept car which astonishes with its look and cannot be manufactured in series (it’s not really the case here, where not even one prototype can be made), you would love to take it out for a drive test ride. If only they invent a futurist game full of atomic cars like World Thorium Fuel.
