World’s thinnest LCD comes from LG
LG doesn’t give up. Aiming to win the battle between Japanese and Korean LCD manufacturers LG claims the title of world’s thinnest LCD TV panel.
LG already knows how great it is to be number 1 on the thin LCDs market. One of its LCD TV series measured 3mm. The title of world’s thinnest LCD will go again to LG. This time, the Korean company will come with an LCD TV panel measuring just 2.6mm (0.1-inch) thin. The 42-inch panel weighs less than 4kg; it boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution.
No doubts about the quality. This LCD features innovative technologies. An ultra-slim, edge-lit LED backlight system and proprietary optical film technology are two of them. We will have more details about this product in 2010, at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2010 in Las Vegas.
