RO: Vodafone: We'll keep on focusing on efficiency
Vodafone Romania announced today the key performance indicators for the Quarter ended December 31, 2009.
The Romanian subsidiary added 128,000 net customers, for a total of 9,663,000 customers by December 31, 2009. “Despite the difficult economic context and the competitive market we operate in, we have managed to end the calendar year 2009 with good results. In the quarter ended December 31, a significant number of users have chosen the services offered by Vodafone Romania. Last year, we have seen an over 20% decrease of the local telecom industry, which makes us keep on focusing on making our business more efficient and addressing the customers’ current needs. Our priority remains offering the best and most advantageous communications services both to consumers and to companies, in order to help them cope easier with the economic challenges of the past year”, said Liliana Solomon, Vodafone Romania CEO.
Service revenue decreased by 23.8% in the quarter ended December 31, 2009, compared to same period of the previous year. Total ARPU (Average Revenue per User) for the 12 months rolling ended December 31, 2009 has reached Euro 8.1, while Mobile ARPU consolidated for the same period was Euro 8.0. Postpaid subscribers accounted for 38.1% and prepaid for 61.9% of Vodafone Romania’s total subscriber base, in the quarter ended December 31, compared to 37.9% versus 62.1%, in the same period last year. This is the equivalent of an annual growth of 0.9% in the postpaid subscriber base. Vodafone Romania, is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc.. Vodafone is the world’s leading international mobile communications group with approximately 333 million proportionate customers as of December 31, 2009.
