Bluetooth 4.0 on the horizon
If you are still awaiting the first phones with Bluetooth 3.0 to be launched on the market, than you are really too old-fashioned, as Bluetooth Special Interest Group has just announced, that the 4.0 version of the technology will be available in devices by the end of the year.
Interesting thing about the fourth version of Bluetooth is that it could be implemented in gadgets with weaker batteries like watches for example. This fact, however, is a bit strange, as Bluetooth 4.0 will have almost the same power consumption as Bluetooth 3.0, but the latter is not appropriate for such devices. Otherwise 4.0 will use, just like the previous version, the frequency spectrum of Wi-Fi and will offers transfer speeds of up to 25 Mbit/s.
