LG Renoir – а mobile phone with an impressive 8-megapixel camera, supplied with everything you may ever want and turning each photo into masterpiece of art - like the canvases of Pierre-Auguste Renoir - artist, after which the LG KC910 was named. Leaving all other extras for a little bit later in our test, we hurry to start this article with details about the „black pearl“ of Renoir - its 8-megapixel camera, which you are certainly looking forward to know more about. Well, except making pictures with impressive size and resolution at 3264x2448 pixel, the camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach optics uses a complete set of features: automatic and manual focus, macro mode, face, smile and blink detector, settings for white balance, different effects and scene modes. Of course, geo-tagging feature is also available and works just fine, indicating the coordinates of each taken image. Overall the camera interface is very simple, despite of all the extras, and the activation of each of them is a matter of 1-2 touches. Xenon flash is also on board but it is so powerful that sometimes close objects in darker conditions get even overilluminated. You shouldn't be worried about the lenses getting scratched, as they are protected by a cover. Continuing with further features, we can't help but look at the magnificent screen of KC910. It has a 3“ diagonal, a 240x400 points resolution and is able to display up to 256k colors. It's touch sensitive and dealing with it is very simple and thanks to the Flash UI interface - really fast. With this LG Renoir is a nice and competitive alternative to all Windows Mobile touch screen devices, which are rather confusing to use for most users. The menu is divided into 4 sections each with 7-8 icons - enough to reach every function without any wandering. The home screen offers 3 shortcuts but you could also add as many widgets all over the screen as you wish. Another aspect of the entertainment features in LG Renoir gives us the video player which supports DivX videos. Further cool multimedia stuff are Dolby Mobile technology for better sound, TV output and FM radio with RDS. Otherwise, the phone has no problem reading office documents, it has functional organizer, voice notes, and adding a new contact to the phone book is a pleasant adventure with plenty of fields. Interesting part of the menu is the folder full with Google services and the one with unique games, including „Flying dices“ where you throw dices by shaking the phone - yes, there is a built-in accelerometer too. And by saying „Google services“ - in LG Renoir you get direct link to Google Search, Gmail, Blogger, Google Maps and YouTube, of course. And some final words: I wont forget to mention some more superb features as Bluetooth (+A2DP profile) and Wi-Fi connectivity, high-speed downloads through the 3G standard HSDPA, 100MB of internal memory plus microSD card slot, GPS and A-GPS, which can be turned off, so not paying for 3G Internet access when there's weak signal from the satellites. The web browser is really comfortable to use, displays a major area of the page, and the interactive QWERTY keyboard makes surfing just a blast.
