HP buys Palm for $1.2 billion

After a few months of speculations about Palm's faith and who will buy it, after the company put itself on the shelfs last year, now everything is clear and we know the answer. The buyer of the struggling company is one of the leading PC makers - HP, who will pay $1.2 billion, which is $5.7 per share.

The deal will be finalized by July 31st, which coincides with the end of HP's third fiscal quarter.

Now let's see what HP will undertake in order to make its position on the smartphone market a little bit stronger than now, because we know the company is one of the players on that field, but with no really big success up to now.
