Beyblade: Metal Fusion for Wii and DS
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has revealed it will be releasing a series of video games in Europe based on the new BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion TV series for the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms later this year. The games are courtesy of a new agreement between HUDSON SOFT and Corus Entertainment Inc.'s Nelvana Enterprises to develop and distribute video games based on the new boys' action TV series BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion.
The BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion TV show, from Nelvana and d-rights Inc., features a new cast of characters taking on the continued battle between good and evil. Gingka, the hero, and his group of loyal friends rally against a dangerous group called the Dark Nebula. The series follows a group of competitors who vie to be the best at Beyblading. Each blader modifies their Beyblades to compete to be #1 in the world.
The accompanying Beyblade: Metal Fusion game is being developed by HUDSON SOFT in Japan. The games will be distributed in Europe via Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH, while plans for European distribution of the TV series will be announced shortly.
"The original BEYBLADE television series and toy line were a worldwide phenomenon, and the new versions are already immensely popular in Japan, and we're confident that the series and the video games will have similar success across Europe," said Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "Both the Nintendo DS and Wii versions of the game will follow the story in the show, and we're looking forward to fans being able to battle as their favorite Beybladers whether they're at home or on the move!"
"We look forward to working with Konami to help bring the excitement of BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion to our European gaming fans," said Antoine Erligmann, Vice President, Licensing, Europe, Nelvana Enterprises.
