India shows iPad-like prototype for $35
The Indian government is ready to release a prototype of an iPad-like touch-screen device that costs only $35. They hope to roll out the new device next year, BBC News reported. The tablet is aimed at students and supports web browsing, video conferencing and word processing. The device has been developed by India's top IT colleges, said the Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal.
The device has no hard disk, using a memory card instead like the Humane Reader we showed you last week and can run on solar power.
