Deutsche Telekom announces 2010 Innovation Prize

Deutsche Telekom is awarding its 5th Innovation Prize for SMEs this yea, looking for forward-looking ideas to optimize business processes using broadband data communication. The subject this year is connected work; what's wanted are innovative solution concepts for mobile and fixed-network technologies to simplify and accelerate business processes. This applies, in particular, for areas and sectors that have not yet benefited from digital networking and ideas can range from new uses for the iPhone, BlackBerry Solution or netbooks.

In order to provide SMEs with a suitable platform for presenting their solutions to a broad expert audience, the Innovation Prize will be awarded, as in previous years, at the "SME Innovation Forum." The event, organized by the renowned German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW), will take place on October 27, 2010 in Bonn.

The first prize waiting to be scooped up by those taking part in the competition is EUR 10,000. The winner will be chosen by a jury made up of independent experts. In addition, Deutsche Telekom is awarding an audience prize worth EUR 5,000 this year; the winner will be chosen by the guests attending the Innovation Forum.

The competition is open to SMEs that develop an innovative solution under the motto "Connected Work." All that is required to take part is an informative presentation on the solution concept in data format (PowerPoint) and registration at www.Deutsche Telekom.de/gk/innovationspreis by August 31, 2010.
