Nintendo cuts the prices of its DSi and DSi XL consoles

Nintendo announced it will reduce the retail price of its consoles DSi and DSi XL by $20 each. The new prices will be effective as of September 12th and the gadgets will cost $149.99 and $169.99 respectively. So what happens with DS Lite? Its price will remain the same at $129.99.

Of course this announcement comes because of the forthcoming premiere of Nintendo 3DS, which should be available as of September 29.

Most probably the new 3DS will continue the successful series of portable consoles, which sales by the end of July in the US exceeded 42.3 million units. With that Nintendo said the Nintendo DS family of videogame systems is the bestselling in the history of the US and worldwide. And it's for good reasons, isn't it?
