EN: Sony Ericsson XPERIA family gets Froyo update by the end of September
Sony Ericsson UK has just announced via its Twitter account that the XPERIA X10 smartphone will receive the longly anticipated update to Android 2.1 Eclair by the end of September. The tweet confirms that X10 mini and X10 mini pro will also get the newer version of the operating system. I remind you that currently all these phones are running the old Android 1.6.
Unfortunately there's no word on going further with Android 2.2 Froyo and most probably there will be no update after this one. It's strange and might be very bad for Sony Ericsson, as not only the most of the currently available Android smartphones are moving to 2.2, but there's Android 3.0 Gingerbread on the horizon.
