T-Mobile G2 with Android Froyo is now official

T-Mobile and HTC have just announced their new smartphone - T-Mobile G2, which will be offered in the USA by T-Mobile (of course). The device runs Android 2.2 Froyo, it has 3.7" multitouch capacitive display, QWERTY keyboard and is the first phone in T-Mobile's portfolio to feature HSPA+ support.

Other characteristics of the new G2 are 800 MHz processor by Qualcomm, 5 MP camera with LED flash and autofocus, 720p HD video recording option, 4 GB of built-in memory + microSD slot, 3.5 mm jack, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.

We expect HTC to launch the same phone in Europe - maybe under the name Desire Z.
