We already know that the partnership between the Thai company AsusTek Computer Inc. and the Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini released some of the most handsome fashion laptops. Then followed common projects that were successful on the market, like PDA I-Phone-like and the mobile phone Asus Lamborghini ZX1 (Lamborghini also released a limited edition of coffee filter- Tonino), but nothing could meet the same success as the laptops in VX series did. ASUS Lamborghini laptops rebranded the definition of luxury in the computer field bringing to Asus laptops, next to famous Lamborghini trade name, its conception of elegance and power: more, faster, stronger. Of course you can add a lot more epithets or why not superlatives, especially for its aspect, because the notebook design speaks for itself starting with its shell made from sapphire crystals, aluminum alloy and authentic leather and ending with everything that is hidden under the laptop bonnet which was successfully provided by the technological staff. What hides the bonnet of a VX-3? An Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor with a frequency of 2.5 Ghz, a memory of 4 GB DDR2 at 667 Mhz ( 2 SO-DIMMs), a video card Nvidia GeForce 9300M G 256 MB and a hard disk that spines at 5400 rpm with 320 GB SATA. The turbo configuration is not an amazing one, but we’re talking about a fashion laptop, in which case the stile and the dressing matter the most, just like in the case of a beautiful girl, and as a matter of fact you buy it if you like it or you feel fine typing on it just like it was an intimate journal with a cool cover, or just because it matches with your Prada purse or your brown make-up from Avon… but let’s get back to what makes it unique - its design. Well, the fashion laptop VX-3 wears the signature of Lamborghini being available in the standard colors black or yellow, both very shiny, being polished with magnesium-aluminum alloy and carbon fiber. The TFT LCD Display of 12.1 inch (30.7 cm) transforms it into an ultraportable notebook, extremely compact (weighting only 1.7 Kg and having dimensions of 305 mm x 220 mm x 31 mm) which has WXGA resolution (1280X800 pixels) and LED backlight. The screen has a bit of extra style because of its mirror-type polishing which protects the LCD, giving the notebook the look of a car, special lines of an abstract cub and a mirroring sensation intensified when the laptop is opened because of its shiny screen and metallic keyboard. The loudspeakers placed on both sides of the keyboard and the ventilator in the back of the notebook borrow the concept of auto hoop; in order to reveal the inside of a Lamborghini we have a zone for sustaining the back of the hand made from authentic leather. All in one, I’m wondering what is not authentic in the case of such a laptop. Besides its dream look - resembling with a fast car - , which was for Stephen Winkemann, President and CEO of Lamborghini, the perfect translation of a Lamborghini in both body and spirit. Instead of a leather gearbox, we have velvet covers sewed with yellow or black thread. In conclusion, Asus Lamborghini VX-3 is a fashion laptop with high stand equipment, not the latest, but a pretty good one, the way it happens with the newest mobile phones gold crafted from Nokia, a perfect fusion between advanced technology and design, which express through its look power, speed, resistance and beauty. Its design is so beautiful that it brings to surface even qualities that aren’t there, and I think that tells it all.
