AMC celebrates 10 year anniversary as member of COSMOTE Group

AMC celebrated its 10 year anniversary as a member of COSMOTE Group with a special event held in Tirana, attended by media representatives, corporate customers, as well as members of the country's political and business world. During its 10 year course, AMC managed to both achieve and sustain market leadership, despite aggressive competition and regulatory pressures.

AMC's new CEO, Mr. Dimitris Blatsios, stated: "AMC, member of one of the strongest groups in SE European mobile market, is a significant player in Albania, contributing to the country's economy and society through continuous investment and Corporate Responsibility programmes. In a challenging time for the telecommunications sector, AMC continues its dynamic course, focusing on competitive offerings and top quality customer servicing".

Mr. Blatsios assumed the position of AMC's Chief Executive Officer on December 6th, following a long career in the telecommunications sector. Prior to AMC, he was Executive Chief Commercial Officer in GLOBUL, COSMOTE's subsidiary in Bulgaria, and General Manager in GERMANOS Telecom Romania.

AMC, member of COSMOTE Group since 2000, launched commercial operations in 1996, being the first mobile telecommunications company to operate in Albania. Following a successful track record of strong performance at all levels, AMC today holds the leading position in the domestic market in terms of market share, with its customer base exceeding 2 million. In 2009, the company's revenues reached 145.7 million Euro, while its EBITDA margin stood at 57.7%. COSMOTE's Albanian subsidiary consistently invests in enhancing its network's coverage and capacity, currently providing 99.8% population and 89.8% geographical coverage. The company recently introduced iPhone 4 in the Albanian market.

In April 2009, COSMOTE acquired a 12.6% stake of AMC, held by the Albanian State, increasing its participation to 95%.
