GR: Mobile Internet up to 42.2 Mbps by COSMOTE

COSMOTE continues to invest dynamically in upgrading its network, offering advanced technology services, higher data speeds and also even better coverage, in more and more areas of the country. It’s worth mentioning that COSMOTE in 2010 increased the Mobile Internet average speed by 40%, offering wider coverage in an increasing number of areas / locations.

Having significantly upgraded its 3G network and successfully implementing the advanced technique Dual Carrier for HSPA+ technology (High Speed Packet Access), COSMOTE with "COSMOTE Internet On The Go" data transfer plans, which are the most popular mobile broadband service in the Greek market, offers new broadband speeds up to 42.2 Mbps and uploading up to 5.8 Mbps, with the advanced ZTE MF680 and HUAWEI E372 USB Sticks. The new speeds are available at selected locations in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras, while upgrades will gradually continue in other parts of the country.

First in Greece and among the first companies in Europe, COSMOTE recorded in May 2010 broadband data downloading speeds of up to 42.2 Mbps (downlink), in trials conducted under real network conditions.

COSMOTE, constantly pioneering technologically, has already presented first in the Greek market, and among the firsts on a European level, broadband speeds up to 100 Mbps through LTE Technology (Long Term Evolution) in the context of the Info-Com World Conference, in October 2010.
