RO: COSMOTE Romania boosts EBITDA in Q1 2011
COSMOTE Romania announces key performance indicators for the first quarter of 2011 fiscal year. In Q1 2011, COSMOTE Romania continued on its successful business course, significantly boosting EBITDA and maintaining a steady track in revenues. The company managed to grow its business customers’ base by 10%, as a result of the company’s competitive and appealing dedicated corporate offers.
6.6 million costomers
As of the end of March 2011 COSMOTE’s total customer base reached 6.6 million (including Zapp), with the postpaid ratio increasing to 22.4% from 21% in Q1 2010, as a result of the business segment growth.
EBITDA profitability rose by 171.2% versus Q1 2010, reflecting significant operating improvements following the successful integration of Zapp.
Total revenues in the first quarter of 2011 reached 107.3 million Euro, while COSMOTE’s EBITDA margin stood at 16.7% up by 11 p.p. on a yearly basis.
Having reached a market share of approximately 24% and successfully providing 3G services at the highest speeds in the market, COSMOTE Romania will continue to focus on expanding its presence in the broadband and corporate segments.
In Q1’ 2011, the mobile operations of OTE Group provided telecommunications services to approximately 20 million customers in SE Europe.
