HTC rethinks its decision – will actually launch Gingerbread for Desire

Yesterday we informed you about HTC's decision to not launch further update for its bestseller HTC Desire. The reason was not enough memory, which will allow HTC to bring Gingerbread and keep the HTC Sense experience on the HTC Desire.

Today however, the Taiwanese company rethinks its decision and now says it will actually offer the highly anticipated Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to the smartphone. It should be available in the upcoming weeks, but expect the lack of some applications and extras.
