Third Generation of iPod Shuffle
Apple goes on with its genneration of iPod Shuffle started 4 years ago when the first Shuffle appeared. Now Apple is launching the third genneration of iPod Shuffle. The little hobbit, iPod Shuffle is described by those from CNET as light as the feather, small as a paper clip and the next best thing to an invisible MP3 player.
At the technical specification chapter we have to enumerate a double memory next to the previous Shuffle, having now 4 GB for up to 1000 tracks, improved facilities for audio books or podcasts and the option VoiceOver, which is telling what song you are listening, vital as you don’t have a screen (because the size of a little hobbit doesn’t come without sacrifices). Also the life of the battery is suffering damages, as is not the best one, but it still offers 10 hours of continuous music (a complete recharge lasts 3 hours).
The characteristics you would see if it was be exposed in an Ikea furniture store would be something like this: closed inside an aluminium shell, with ergonomic sizes of 1.8 inches height, 0.7 inches width and 0.3 inches thickness and I could say that the sexy shapes of 90-60-90 of a Kylie Minogue are a plus for the design itself (besides the Apple logo the fans love), even if the minimalist style and its USB look was criticized by some.
Kylie… oh I meant the iPod Shuffle weights only 10.7 grams, so if someone would steal it you won’t feel a thing (I was thinking that this would be the problem with the new phones, that appear & appear and lighter & lighter until the point you don’t feel their weight in your pocket and you can loose them easily, so they should have a function like VoiceOver that should do more like yelling after you “You lost me fool, come back!”).
Anyway enough with the jokes, practically you have a clips to attach the iShuffle to your clothes (and you can even run listening to Gary Moore- Run for cover [You’d better run, run, run!]), and the control which is super important when talking about an iPod is done by a remote control on the cable just below the right ear, which includes three buttons- two for volume control (louder or even louder- hey shouldn’t there be an up/down? Yes, there is) and a central button with multiple functions. You press the centre button once to pause music playback, twice to skip forward, and three times to skip back. The downside is if you lose your headphones, you can say you’ve lost your iPhone too, because you can control it only by the remote (just like those high expensive speakers, or audio systems that become useless once you’ve broken the remote control- a regrettable and rare thing, but which happens to those with bad luck).
In conclusion, one of the faciclities of the iPod Shuffle is an digital audio player, without FM radio, or the ability to record, and off course without playback foto or video (only if it would have had a projector like the new mobile phone Smasung MBP200 for example). It suports MP3, AAC, Audible, WAV, AIF si Apple Lossless, but not WMA or FLAC. One over the other the little hobbit, iPod Shuffle, is My Precious for all those who require something confortable, which sits discrete in its place, but not lacking in style for those who care for details. The new iPod Shuffle is available in two colours, black & grey, at a fair price of 79 $.
