Straight ahead to the 3D

Before the premiere of the movie "Avatar" there were variety of things that had been spoken - "this movie will challenge your imagination", "it will change your perspective", "breathtaking 3D adventure" and similar comments close to purely promotional gush.

After watching the movie on a big screen in full 3D glory, I dare to say that this time it's not just another marketing gimmick. I do not know for sure whether this movie will change the way of cinema, but I am sure that thanks to it in our everyday life will be permanently stationed the term 3D.

Proof of that is not only the show in Las Vegas - CES 2010, where we saw a large number of three-dimensional mode devices, but also the fact that all major producers proudly showed or will show soon at the market its first products with 3D capabilities (LCD and plasma TVs, Blu-ray players, projectors, etc.).

Not that there has been no similar devices in the market till now, but they were rather a kind of exoticism, than a mass product. There is such a mass 3D campaign now that we think will lead to a 3D screens and technology in each home. Indeed, the euphoria is almost greater than that in the transition from black and white television to color. Whether the expectations will be justified?

We will see...

Now have a pleasant moments with the HiFi magazine issue 120!
